Other Services

Format Transfer Services

We offer transfer services to and from a wide range of formats, including D3, DigiBeta and Beta SP, DVCPro, U-matic, SVHS and VHS in both PAL and NTSC systems.

Rushes transfers can be arranged as part of your editing package or as a stand-alone service. We have provision for making sound transfers between most audio formats, both analogue and digital.

When editing is complete, we can provide large scale VHS duplication at very competitive rates.

High quality copies of broadcast programmes are also available, recorded by direct feed from transmission to eliminate any interference problems.

Media Solutions Desktop Support

Media Solutions Desktop Support (formerly Post Solutions) is a team of experts, drawn from both Post Production Operations and Engineering, who offer advice and operational support on the Avid range of editing systems, and Apple Final Cut Pro.

Their service is available to both Post Production Editors and self-op (desktop) users. This can be on a per call out basis, or under a standard SLA (Service Level Agreement) contract. They also offer advice when buying or hiring systems, building and installation, media file conversion and data recovery.

For more information please contact Media Solutions Desktop Support on 020 8576 7475.

Machine Group

The Machine Group is a highly skilled engineering team capable of servicing all your Post Production machine needs. The Group specialises in Sony Dß, SP etc, DVCAM, mini DV, DAT, Panasonic DVCPRO family and D3 machines. Most cassette based formats are also serviced.

We’ve accrued a wealth of expertise servicing and modifying the whole gamut of Sony DV camcorders and ancillary equipment.

We can undertake the repair of physically damaged tape and cassettes.

If you have a recording that plays with errors, we may be able to recover your valuable rushes, potentially saving the cost of a re-shoot.

Please contact john.harmer@bbc.co.uk or Tel 020 8576 7676.

Versioning

BBC Post Production provide dedicated facilities, offering an extensive programme versioning service for the digital channels. Work ranges from simple editing and inserting of programme breaks, to more complex picture manipulation, ensuring international compliance.

Tape Recycling

We offer recycled stock at a considerably lower price than that of new tape. A serviced and return option is available where production (or customer's own) tape is subjected to a rigorous recycling process which erases, checks and cleans the tape to 'as new' specification, with fresh labels applied. An internal delivery system is in place for BBC customers.

For more information please contact the London Tape Servicing Team on 020 8576 8858.
