AUDIOFILEAUDIOFILE

What it does

When should I use it?

Digital audio workstation.

For sound dubbing using OMFI files or a traditional tracklay/sound prep. The system is very powerful and enables the handling of large numbers of tracks. Better for programmes that may need lots of reversioning i.e. foreign voice over.

 

DUBBING THEATREDUBBING THEATRE

What it does

When should I use it?

Sound dubbing and finishing of programmes connected to sound booth with either an Audiofile or Protools workstation.

For the final mixing of sound. Produces finished sound tracks as required.
 

FX LIBRARYFX LIBRARY

What it does

When should I use it?

A PC-based sound effects server.

For use in the FX tracklay, to add atmospheres and spot FX.

 

PROTOOLSPROTOOLS

What it does

When should I use it?

Digital audio workstation.

For recording, editing and mixing. Capable of interacting with UNITY networks.

 

PYRAMIXPYRAMIX

What it does

When should I use it?

Digital audio workstation.

STARNETSTARNET

What it does

When should I use it?

Central storage server for Audiofiles, used for storage and transfer of sound.

To share sound files between the tracklay rooms and the dubbing theatres.
