BBC POST PRODUCTION APPOINTS NEW FACILITIES MANAGER

BBC Post Production in Birmingham has appointed Stephen Reilly as the new Facilities Manager to lead the commercial and operational teams. Stephen will join staff in the Mailbox from December, having been Facilities Manager of the largest independent post house in Wellington, New Zealand for the five years.

BBC Post Production in Birmingham is home to some of the key television drama and magazine programmes, such as Doctors, Grease Monkeys, Countryfile, Houses Behaving Badly and Gardeners World. Its facilities include 12 fully equipped, inter-connected, on-line capable editing, dubbing and finishing suites. All suites are linked to a central high speed Unity server. It also boasts a dubbing theatre with Dolby 5.1 capability.

Stephen comments: “Following the move into the Mailbox and with the imminent opening of the new Drama Production Village, BBC Post Production Birmingham is poised to take business on to the next level, delivering excellence to our BBC and non-BBC customers.”

In addition, Phil Mead was appointed as the new Facilities Manager for BBC Post Production in Bristol last month. Phil has been with the department since 1999, developing the commercial side of the business in his role as Operations Co-ordinator and Post Producer. He previously worked at Television Centre in London in a number of roles including Bookings Manager and Project Manager for Entertainment.
