The Creme de la Creme

BBC Post Production's Creative Team in Bristol, formerly part of BBC MediaArc,
has won three major trophies at the Southwest & Wales Cream 2002 Awards,
the regional marketing and advertising Awards.
Their Wessex Water campaign picked up the top award,
the 'Advertising Grand Prix' plus 'Best TV/Cinema Commercial',
and the online games they created for the Blue Planet site on BBCi won
'Best use of Multimedia'.
There are seven main 'Blue Planet' games including
Life of the Edge, Dive to the Abyss, and Open Ocean which you can play
by visiting http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/blueplanet/games.shtml.
The games take players on a series of voyages where they are quizzed about
the wonders and science of the oceans, collecting samples from various
species on the way.
The three Wessex Water commercials follow 'Dave',
a character established in earlier adverts, as he drifts into a dream-world
and embarks on a mission to teach the messages from Wessex Water about
how to keep in balance with nature. The very successful campaign was featured
on TV, in the press and on outdoor media.
James Hall, Creative Director in Bristol said: "What
a glorious evening for us. To be rewarded for such a wide range of work
is amazing and it shows the diversity of skills, creativity and talent
BBC Post Production Bristol has. To be awarded the Advertising Grand Prix
by such an important industry standard as Cream 2002 is simply fantastic."
About Cream 2002 Awards:
Launched in 1997 in the Midlands, the Cream brand operates in five regional
areas in the UK. The Cream Awards, the regional Awards brand which is
part of Adline, is the leading marketing magazine for the regions.
The multi-disciplined Awards cover all aspects of the
advertising and design industry and appoints several different judging
panels each year. This reflects the broad range of categories, and ensures
that an industry peer who is knowledgeable and well respected in their
own particular field of expertise judges each entry.
